About
As the Operations Manager at Benjamin Law Firm - DWI & Criminal Defense Lawyers, Amber has the privilege of helping ensure the team has the systems, support, and resources needed to provide every client with exceptional service. She enjoys building efficient processes, supporting staff, and creating an environment where the team can focus on what matters most — fighting for their clients.
Amber brings more than 30 years of professional experience to her role, with the majority of her career focused on operations and the criminal justice field. Before joining Benjamin Law Firm, she spent more than 25 years serving Jackson County, Missouri, where she worked alongside courts, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and Probation and Parole. During her career with Jackson County, Amber served as the Director of Population Control, overseeing processes and reporting for the Jackson County Judicial System to help ensure individuals taken into custody were properly tracked and received their day in court. She also managed the County House Arrest Program, where her team supervised approximately 300 individuals daily while they were out on bond, and led the Jackson County Detention Center Records Unit, ensuring accurate records, proper documentation, and timely releases.
Those experiences shaped Amber's belief that every person has a story and deserves to be treated with compassion, understanding, dignity, and respect. Working with individuals from all walks of life reinforced her belief that one mistake should not define someone's future. Those lessons continue to guide how she approaches her work every day.
That philosophy is one of the reasons Amber is proud to be part of Benjamin Law Firm. The firm's mission — "We fight to protect the rights of good people who may have made a mistake that should not haunt them for life" — is something she truly believes in. Amber is honored to support a team that works tirelessly to help clients move forward and protect their futures.
One of Amber's favorite parts of working at the firm is the incredible team culture. Communication and collaboration are priorities, and everyone works together toward a common goal: providing the best possible experience and outcomes for their clients. She especially enjoys starting each day with the team's morning meeting, where they set a positive tone for the day ahead, discuss any challenges or concerns, share updates, reflect on the previous day's accomplishments, and collaborate on ways to continue improving.
What truly sets the firm apart, in Amber's view, is its commitment to teamwork. The attorneys and case managers meet weekly to discuss every case, ensuring multiple perspectives are considered and no detail is overlooked. This collaborative approach allows the firm to provide thoughtful and strategic representation for every client.
Originally from Minnesota, Amber moved to Missouri at a young age, where she met her husband of more than 30 years. Together, they have raised two amazing sons, and family remains the center of her life. Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending time with her family through fishing, camping, swimming, and simply enjoying the outdoors together.
Amber holds two college degrees — one in the medical field and one in Criminal Justice. Throughout her career, she has been honored to receive the State of Missouri's Distinguished Administrative Service Award and a 25-Year Service Award from Jackson County. She also had the opportunity to establish and operate a private supervision company, where she continued serving individuals through community supervision programs.
Amber's career has always been centered around helping people, improving systems, and creating processes that make a difference. With more than 30 years of experience in criminal justice and operations, she has developed a unique understanding of the challenges individuals face when navigating the legal system. At the firm, Amber is grateful to continue that mission every day by supporting a team dedicated to protecting their clients' rights and making a meaningful difference in their lives.
