About

Will grew up in Carl Junction, Missouri and attended school there for most of his childhood. Growing up, he had an acute sense of what was right and wrong, and a keen interest in arguing and winning those arguments (much to the annoyance of his family). When he was sixteen, his grandfather told him “find something you love and find a way to make a living at it.” Due to his love of winning arguments, he followed his grandfather’s advice and took an interest in the law.

Will then moved to Springfield, Missouri where he attended Missouri State University and enrolled in their Criminology program. While earning his degree, he researched and drafted policy proposals on a variety of subjects including the injustices that pre-trial detainees suffer as a result of socio-economic circumstance and other systemic injustices. The discovery of these large gaps in our criminal justice system which allow for injustices and strict penalties further cemented his commitment to go to law school. In his senior year he secured an internship at a local prosecutor’s office and through that experience discovered that most individuals being charged were good people who had just made a one-time mistake and deserved a second chance.

Will was able to graduate magna cum laude with his degree in Criminology from Missouri State and spent the next year working 60+ hour weeks waiting tables to save money and apply to law school.

Will enrolled at University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law in 2022 and became a member of the UMKC Law Review. Additionally, he was a member of the Post-Conviction Remedies Clinic in which he performed multiple field investigations, drafted legal briefs, and submitted those briefs to appellate courts on the state and federal level. His work has been used to file petitions in the United States Supreme Court to work towards releasing innocent individuals from death row.

Will started with Benjamin Law Firm as a clerk in 2023 and continued to work there through law school. As a clerk, he obtained his Rule 13 “student” certification and was able to gain practical experience under the supervision of attorneys at Benjamin Law. He graduated with his J.D. in 2025 and looks forward to using his degree to achieve the best legal outcomes for his clients and give them a well-deserved second, third, or fourth chance at life.

Will currently lives in Kansas City with his Labrador-Heeler mix Dude and in his free time enjoys going on hikes, reading fantasy, watching the Chiefs, and homebrewing mead and wine.
