William Vance

Law Clerk
Will has a passion for helping people. While earning his degree in Criminology from Missouri State University, he researched and drafted policy proposals. Through these, Will discovered that there are large gaps in our criminal justice system which provide for injustices and strict penalties against those who did not deserve the harsh punishment they were subjected to. Due to these gaps, he worked sixty-hour weeks waiting tables to apply to law school.

Will is now a second-year student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. He is a member
of the UMKC Law Review and has also participated in field work for the Midwest Innocence Project. His work in the Innocence Project has been used to work towards the release of those who have been convicted of crimes they did not commit. He looks forward to graduating with his J.D. and using it to help others achieve their best legal outcomes.
